Larry went to Nassau and started a group there called Soul Blenders,toured the Bahamas bringing the music of Jamaica there

In 1972 returned to Jamaica and got together with percussionist Larry McDonald and started group Thruth,did a few session’s,then met up with Rupert Bent SR,and the Profile’s,along with Adrian Clarke,Derrick Stewart,and did some J.B.C.T.V gig’s and went to Playboy Club to perform there.Now this was when he got to see that music is not just playing it by ear,there was lot’s of written music so Larry came into Kinston and bought the book Rudiment’s of Music and and started to teach himself the theory of what written music was all about.then got a resident gig at the Sheriton Kingston ,along with Roger BathelmyTyrone Downie,Clarence Wears.Jammed with great’s like Billy Cobham,Leslie Butler,Tommy Mcook,drummer Willy.Then left with Tyrone to play at the Hilton in St Ann, along with Carl Mcloud and singer Lloyd Wilk’s,went on to go to Canada along with tyrone to meet with Joe Joe Bennett and the Fugitive’s,in the winter of 1973.Now thing’s did’nt work the way they should so met up with two girl’s and stayed with them. Tyrone came back to Jamaica to join with Bob Marley.So Larry stayed there because there was a way to open up Jamaican music to the world.Started the group Mind Blender’s with Carlene Davis as lead singer did her first LP titled I Remember.Then went on to start the group Ishan People with lead singer Johnny Osbourne did two LP’s with there first major record company G.R.T. of Canada co-produced by David Clayton Thomas of Blood Sweet and Tear’s did supporting tour for B.S and T.And Ishan was allway’s a big hit at Caribana and Carifesta .Larry did his first gold selling recording as bass player for session with Bruce Cockburn,Dancing in the Lion Jaw’s with the hit single Wondering where the Lion’s are.Ishan did a few movie sound tracks and was the first reggae group to appear live on C.B.S. T.V. and to perform in major venues.But not seeing any progress with the record company Ishan decided that they would have to make it on there own and left for Detroit there appearing on W.T.V.S. channel 54 and from then on did extensive touring in North America.Ishan went on to tour in the Bahamas in 1975, and supporting Peter Tosh in Boston with Leroy Sibbles in 1979.The group has also done recording’s and concert’s with IThree’s,Heptone’s,U.Roy,Ken Booth,Johnney Clarke,John Holt.And then did a concert in the Horseshoe Tavern in which the group Police did a supporting act for Ishan.After that the group was not getting yo where they wanted to so Larry went off to do some work with Toot’s and the Maytals in Vancuover.Larry thought by now he had done enough for the music there and returned to Jamaica and joined Prince Fari and the Arab’s started recording and touring the U.K. in 1981-1982.Musical Youth supported them on that tour not to forget a show at the Rainbow Theatre.Then teamed up with Earl Chinna Smith with High Time Player’s,did gig’s and recording’s with Freddie McGreggor,Judy Mowatt,Abbysinians and a few more.then teamed up with Leroy (Horsemouth)Wallace on drum’s to form Darbazz in 1982 did session’s,concert’s and tour’s with Frankie Paul,Tamlyns,Wailing Souls,Hugh Mundell,Tappa Zukie,Errol Dunkley,Tony Tuff,Sammy Dread,Lepkie,Mikey Dread and others.Started working with Sugar Minnot,did Dance Hall 83and Sunsplash83.Toured the U.k. and Europe and then back to record with Mighty Diamonds,Whent off to U.K. and Europe to wth Sugar,Don Carlos and Junior Reid,Darbazz also did Search for a Star in 1983 for Flip Frazer ,played at the Venue in London with Wailing Souls for Echoes show,Doing more recordings in U.k. for artists like Jah Screechy called Walk and Skank(the Answer rhythem of which producer Fattist got all his hit’s from,as a matter of fact in England is where singer Pinchers started his recording career on Fattist recording label.In 1984 Larry went to Zimbabwe with Don Carlos, then returned and bassed himself in London and did numerous recording’s ,concert’s and tours.Formed the group Steady Riddim,started recording’s with Mikey Dread at the Control’s,Oneness for Electronic Sound & Computer Music and a L.P. for U.B 40then did a supporting tour with Winston Reedy for U.B.40,then Capital Radio road show with Winston Reedy.Larry then joined Dennis Brown in producing Good Vibration’s L.P.Then began work with Barrington Levy in 1985 on Here I Come a U.K. chart’s single,once again a Capital Radio show with Barrington Levy along with U.Ks top musicians as Drummie Zeb ,Micheal on keyboards,Bubblers also on keys,Stanley guitar,Buttons on horns from U.B40.Then appearing on British T.V.shows such as Whistle Test on B.B.C. Black on Black for Channel 4,A childrens morning show called 73 on L.W.T. Thames Teleton charity show .Then went on to went on to Italy on Sunsplash 85 .In 1986 teamed with drummer Leroy Holmes did hit record Shub in for Frankie Paul,then Toured with Sophia George after her hit single Girlie Girlie,appeared on chart shows in Holland T.V.More tours with Junior Mervin,Mikey Dread,Eastwood and Saint,Earl16.Larry was then nominated by Echoes as bass player of the year,continued to do more recordings and tours with artists and producers like Adrian Sherwood for U sounds along with Style Scott and bubblers.Larry did a few more shows and recordings with Lee Scratsh Perry in 1987and then did Shanchez D on his first U.K. tour along with General3s,Little John.Wend to Jamaica to team once more with Tyrone Downie and Jam Force and appeared on Sunsplash1988with Swelelle,recordings with Bob Andy.And produced an album with Vin Gordon.Went on up to U.K. to be the studio musical director at Thameside recording company.He then went on to tour the U.K. and Europe with Jah Woosh and gigs with Arican Head Charge and Noah House of Dread and once more teamed with Mikey Dread in France for New Year show in 1989 also Dillinger.Larry went to the U.S in 1990 to form D.A.T.C. with Mikey Dread and performed in Detroit Univercity on a Boogie Down production for African Liberation Day,along with Jackie Mitoo this was the last show that Jackie did as he is no longer with us here.Larry came home to perform at the Ward theatre for Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame production.Got together with Sparrow Martin and Eggie Evan’s and Harold Butler to do Jazz at the Devon House .Larry then met Mourice Gordon and started Jazz doing jazz gigs.In 1991 Larry was called to tour Japan with Bunny Wailer,and returened to Jamaica to do White River Reggae Bash.and recordings with Bunny Wailer.Then started tours and concerts in U.S. Europe,U.K.and in the West Indies with Bunny Wailer.And now when not on tour have been doing local Jazz gigs.to be continued…..

I am now 52year's old and am now passing on my knowledge of music to other's.

I enjoy working on car's when I am not playing music.I rebuilt the one I am driving now,it's a Peugeot 205 and a very reliable one too.
I also go swimming alot too as I live just near to the beach.

I really do love playing music but it get's very frustrating at time's working for some artist's and producer's and not getting paid,we do live in a real world that demand's money to pay for the service's and need's and to enjoy some of the the thing's in life also.
